Commemorative elements in the stations
The historical decoration you will find in the stations that were part of the Gran Metro.
On December 30, 1924, the first section of the Gran Metro de Barcelona line was inaugurated, the precursor to the current Line 3, between the stations of Catalunya and Lesseps, covering a distance of 2,470 meters.
Now, a century later, the metro has arrived at its 100th anniversary, having transformed the social habits and commuting patterns of the people of Barcelona. Over the years, the metro has become an indisputable protagonist of urban mobility and of the city's history, its evolution, and the most essential events.
The Barcelona of the metro is celebrating its anniversary. That’s why we have decorated the platforms of the first four stations with explanatory vinyls about these 100 years of history, and we have also placed commemorative tiles.
You will find the commemorative elements at the Lesseps, Diagonal, Passeig de Gràcia, and Catalunya stations on the current L3 line of the metro.

The vynils of the platforms
When you travel through the stations of the old Grand Metro, you will find vinyls that will remind you that you are at one of the first stations of the city's metro. The vinyls are on the walls of the platforms and indicate which station of the line you are at and what its original name was
